Who qualifies?

  1. Be Ga-Dangme.
  2. Be a University student.
  3. Be brilliant.
  4. Be needy.

All four, together. Being Ga-Dangme is required, and it is not on its own enough.

What each one means

The Fund is not designed to support every Ga-Dangme student. It supports brilliant but needy Ga-Dangme university students who meet the Fund's qualification requirements.

  • Ga-Dangme

    The Fund is for Ga-Dangme students.

    We will tell you exactly what is needed for this when we ask for it.

  • University student

    Enrolled at a recognised university.

  • Brilliant

    The Fund supports students with a strong academic record.

  • Needy

    The Fund supports students for whom cost is a genuine obstacle to continuing.

Nothing here is saved, sent, or seen by anyone. It is a check you run for yourself, and it will never tell you that you qualify — two of the four conditions are judgements the Fund makes on verified evidence, and no question on a web page can stand in for them.

Are you Ga or Dangme?

Ga-Dangme means Ga or Dangme. If you are not sure, or you do not know which traditional community your family belongs to, say so — it does not count against you here.

What to bring

Three documents. If you cannot get one of them, that is not a failed requirement — every alternative the Fund accepts is listed here, before you need it.

  • Your academic record

    Where you study, what year you are in, and how you have performed so far — cumulatively, read under your own institution's academic regulations. We will also consider your WASSCE results as part of your wider academic record.

    Usually required

    • Official university transcript or official academic results statement
    • WASSCE results

    Both will be required to help us understand your academic performance across secondary school and university.

  • What your institution says you owe

    What your institution says you owe for the academic year, and for which programme. It is how the Fund establishes the cost you are being asked to meet.

    Issued by your institution. You will never be asked to supply any bank details.

  • Your financial circumstances

    Whether the cost above is a genuine obstacle for you. Not a figure for what your family earns: the question is whether the money to meet it is reliably available to you.

    No single document here is compulsory. Households hold their money in different shapes, and a list that insisted on payslips would exclude the families least likely to have one.

    • Recent payslip
    • Signed income and support declaration
    • Parent, guardian or supporter declaration
    • Scholarship, bursary or sponsor confirmation
    • Structured disclosure of dependants and material obligations
